A Googol's a Big Number, but Definitely Not the BIGGEST Number
My sons were playing the classic "which number is bigger" game the other day, and the difference between a googol and a googolplex came up. When you say it out loud ("a googol is a one followed by a hundred zeros, and a googolplex is a one followed by a googol zeros"), it doesn't necessarily sound like the numbers are that different. In reality, however, the numbers are massively, exponentially far apart from each other.

To illustrate just how vast this difference is, let's take a moment to break it down with some more familiar numbers. Imagine comparing something like a million to a billion. A million seconds is about 11.5 days, while a billion seconds is nearly 32 years. Now, multiply that sense of scale by an unimaginable factor, and you're starting to get the idea.
