It might not be obvious at first, but if your Laptop's Lithium-Ion (LiPo) battery gets old, it might swell and catch fire or Explode. On a number of laptops, the battery is directly underneath your trackpad/touchpad. This swelling puts mechanical pressure on your touchpad/trackpad and prevents it from clicking. If your trackpad has stopped clicking or is becoming increasingly difficult to press, a swollen battery may be the issue.
