On top of the roof of two art installations, big lenses aim at the sky. The moving images of passing clouds, trees and birds are projected directly on a table in the spaces which have been converted into a darkroom. The public get to experience Trompenburg Gardens & Arboretum in an entire new way. With his project 'Arbor Morgana Trompenburg', Egied Simons converts reality to a spatial, cinematic experience. He creates a interplay of depth, compaction and the subtle movements of objects with the sky as a background.
As a sculptor, Egied Simons (1958) is interested in the most perishable materials. He is concerned with structures, stratification, openness and compaction in motion.
