สารคดี "หมอผี" ที่ไม่ได้ทำเพื่อให้คนกลัวเหมือนในหนังผีทั่วไป แต่มันคือสารคดีที่เกี่ยวกับผู้คน เกี่ยวกับ พิธีกรรม ของคนโบราณ ที่อาจเกี่ยวข้องกับบรรพบุรุษของเรา ในสมัยที่ยังไม่มี ศาสนา สารคดีชุดนี้จะนำเสนอเกี่ยวกับ "ศาสนาผี" ศาสนาที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในประเทศไทย ที่เราสามารถสืบหาได้จาก แหล่งอารยธรรมของชนกลุ่มน้อยที่ยังหลงเหลือประเพณีโบราณ การนับถือผีที่ไม่ใช่แค่การ เข้าทรงองค์เจ้า แต่มันคือพิธีกรรมที่มีมาตั้งแต่โบราณ มันคือประเพณีที่สืบทอดกันมารุ่นต่อรุ่นอย่างยาวนาน นี้คือ Old God มันคือความ Pagan ของเรา แบบที่ไม่มีการนำศาสนาอื่นมารวมกันเหมือนอย่างทุกวันนี้ ที่ พุทธ พราหมณ์ ผี ผสมกันเป็นศาสนาไทย แต่เราก็ไม่ได้บอกว่า ทุกวันนี้มันไม่ดีนะ ทุกอย่างนั้นสมบูรณ์ดีอยู่แล้ว เพียงแต่เราอยากนำเสนอ สิ่งที่มันเป็นของจริงของ "ศาสนาผี" ว่าทุกวันนี้ก็ยังมีคนบางกลุ่มที่ยังยึดมั่นในสิ่งที่ตัวเองเชื่ออย่างสุดหัวใจว่า ผีมีจริง และเป็นที่เคารพนับถือมาตั้งแต่ บรรพบุรุษ
สารคดีเรื่องนี้มีทีมงานแค่ 3 คน และใช้ระยะเวลาถ่ายทำเพียงแค่ 4 วัน ด้วยอุปกรณ์เท่าที่มี มันอาจจะไม่ใช่สารคดี ที่ดีอะไรมากมายนัก แต่เมื่อผมไปทำสารคดีเรื่องนี้มา ผมก็ได้ตระหนักว่า อย่างอื่นมันก็แค่ของเด็กเล่น ซึ่งจริงๆตัวผมเองก็ยังรักความเป็นเด็กอยู่ ยังชอบเล่น ชอบฟัง แต่ของจริงมันชั่งต่างกันลิบลับ เราเคยชอบวงพวก Pagan แต่เรารู้เรื่องราวของ Pagan ในบ้านเราน้อยมาก จนได้มาประจักษ์กับสิ่งนี้ในตอนที่เราไปทำสารคดี เราก็สามารถฟังเพลงได้สนุกขึ้น มันเหมือนเราเข้าใจรากเหง้าของเรามากขึ้น เราเข้าใจโลกนี้มากขึ้น เข้าใจเนื้อหาในเพลงบางเพลงมากขึ้น เราเข้าใจสิ่งต่างๆมากขึ้น ขอบคุณสำรวจโลก ขอบคุณทีมงานทุกคนที่มีส่วนร่วมกับ สารคดี ชุดนี้

"Shaman" – A Documentary on the Ancient Spirit Religion of Thailand
This is not a horror documentary designed to scare people like typical ghost movies. Instead, it is a documentary about people, rituals, and the traditions of our ancestors—dating back to a time before organized religion existed. This documentary series explores the "Spirit Religion," the oldest belief system in Thailand that can still be traced through the ancient traditions of minority groups who have preserved these sacred practices.
Spirit worship is not merely about trance possession or shamanic rituals; it is an ancient tradition passed down through countless generations. This is Old God, the Pagan essence of our ancestors—before it was blended with other religions like Buddhism and Brahmanism, forming the syncretic Thai belief system we see today. However, we are not here to argue that the modern Thai religious landscape is wrong; in fact, everything is already beautifully intertwined. Instead, our goal is to present the pure and unaltered form of the Spirit Religion as it truly was.
Even today, some groups remain devoted to their ancestral beliefs, holding unwavering faith that spirits are real and have been venerated since time immemorial.
This documentary was made with a small team of just three people, filmed over only four days with whatever equipment we had available. It may not be the most professionally produced documentary, but throughout this journey, I came to realize something profound. Everything else felt like child's play in comparison. Of course, I still embrace my inner child—I still love to play, to listen, and to enjoy—but witnessing these ancient traditions firsthand was an entirely different experience.
I used to admire Pagan music, yet I knew so little about the true Pagan roots within my own homeland. Creating this documentary allowed me to experience it directly, giving me a deeper appreciation for the music I love. It was as if I had finally connected with my cultural roots, gaining a clearer understanding of the world, the meaning behind certain songs, and the essence of traditions that have shaped humanity.
