The year 2004 was witness to one of the greatest tragedies of humankind -- the great tsunami that wiped out civilization in many parts of South East Asia. The force of the tsunami was so strong,it moved the earth off its axle.Thousands were rendered homeless, and many lost their loved ones. The list below are the statistics of the horrors of the tsunami. The human suffering can still be felt today. Spare a moment of thought for the victims of the tsunami;and for those who have suffered in other
natural disasters and tsunamis. He sings of what it meant to him,his home destroyed forever:the heart of the community ripped apart. He lost friends there and this was his personal tribute and thoughts.
This is for all those people who lost so much; to a lady who lost her husband and baby;she finally went back and washed the sand with her tears:and it goes out to brothers who started again and have a drawing of a tree in their small eatery where people can write whatever they like..they lost their whole family and the tree symbolised growth from seedlings.Below are some facts and statistics of that awful time. A big thanks to the collator and source of this data.

A Brief Overview of the Disaster by Countries.
On 26 Dec 2004, 00:58:53 UTC (7:58:53 am local time), a magnitude 9.0 earthquake occurred off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The earthquake generated tsunamis which swept across the Indian Ocean within hours. Which affected 12 countries and took 186,983 lives.
