Because before that everything was binary, there is forbidden and there is permitted. Yes, this follows from the hadith: “Verily, the permitted is clear and the forbidden is clear, and between them are doubtful things which many people do not know.” Yes, we know this hadith, but when I read “Raful Malam” by Ibn Taymiyyah, I understood that the situation is not so critical, and you can always be more tolerant, and you can always be more lenient towards other opinions. This is what I understood. And if now someone asks: am I a Salafi? I will answer: if you look at it as following the Salaf, then yes. But on the other hand, do I follow these Salafi movements that limit me to these 5, 6 or 10 modern scholars, and if I do not accept all of them completely. If my opinions in fiqh and aqeedah are not 100 percent in line with these scholars, in this sense, I am not a Salafi. In view of all this, I prefer to call myself an Asari, which includes following the scholars of earlier times.
