Zeniko OC-D1 deadcat fuzzy windshield fan tests (simulating wind)
First clip is with the mics naked as they come out of the box, no deadcats installed.
Second clip is with the dual black deadcats that come with the OC-D1. They do an OK job for mild amounts of wind (couple mph), but I wouldn't trust them with higher wind speeds (very windy days).
Third clip is with the deadcat from my Tascam TM-2X, which has nice thick fur and backing fabrics, and does a pretty good job overall. The only downside is that with the tascam deadcat, you can't position the individual L/R mic capsules to different degrees for better stereo separation. So you're stuck with the default position where the mics are parallel to each other.
All three clips are toggled between flat, and low-cut (150Hz).
