Visual Fox Pro was retired by Microsoft out of its support program long back and the last update was in 2007. So Innovatix is working with numerous companies to convert their older Visual Fox Pro applications into new dot net Framework.

Innovatix takes a three phase approach to this conversion. First, we do an
analysis phase where we understand the framework of the current application and the data structure as well as all assets in the current application. Each and every thing is documented and a detailed migration plan is created based on the analysis. Further, this is split into agile modules for easy progress tracking.

Then we move on to the actual conversion. If the database is legacy Visual FoxPro Database, we make use of our automation tool Data Morph and map the data into a SQL database. Then we start the actual application conversion to the desired dot net platform. Here also we make use of our home grown automation tools like Code Morph, Code Auto etc. to accelerate the migration process.

In phase three we do a complete system testing of a like to like testing to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively meeting all the requirements of the application. Both manual and automation tools are used in this process. This is in addition to the unit testing we do as part of the development itself.

After these steps are fully complete, only then do we look at enhancements and product development that is available to people through the Microsoft dot net Framework
