Empowering Democracy: 2023 NED Year in Review
In 2023, NED marked its 40th anniversary of supporting freedom around the world, reaffirmed its commitment to courageous partners, and rallied our communities in common cause for a better future. NED continued to support partners who work for human rights, journalism, transparency, and justice, despite danger and sharpening repression. In 2023, NED’s Board of Directors approved $283 million for 1,989 projects in 100 countries.

The National Endowment for Democracy is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world.
