The Mercedes 400 SE W140 is a limousine that perfectly managed to combine good performance and high comfort. Created with flair, it still impresses today. A number of solutions used in it were innovations. Among them, the most fascinating may be the double glazing, filled with a layer of vacuum for better sound insulation. Also unique was a system that facilitated parking, extending the antennas when reversing, allowing an accurate assessment of the car's dimensions. Absolutely astonishing could be this limousine as a whole, if only we can find a reasonably well-maintained copy.
