Pentatonic Scale Harmonisation

So I know the pentatonic scale is mostly supposed to be a tool for melodic ideas, but I got to thinking about what would happen if we treated it like any other scale and created chords out of it. Essentially just taking the first, third, and fifth scale degrees for the first chord the second, fourth, and sixth for the second chord, and so on.

I then came up with a short melody using exclusively notes from the pentatonic scale (except for that one fourth in there) and harmonised it with these chords. I think it's a pretty cool sound, and for whatever reason, these chords tend to work pretty well even though many are missing what makes a chord a chord in the diatonic system (i.e. the fifth, third, etc.).

Also random blurry background cause I can.
