Articulated LED desk lamp for architects, ideal for studying. USB powered. Unboxing and review
We bought an LED desk lamp on AliExpress for around €22. Several models are available. We chose the long model with articulated arms that are about 32 centimeters long.
The lamp comes with a clamp-type bracket for attaching it to the edge of a piece of furniture or table.
The lamp head can be adjusted vertically and can also rotate on its axis.
The lamp requires a USB charger, which is not included in the package.
It's important that the charger you use can supply 10 watts or more. This is the difference between using a 5-volt, 0.5-amp charger, which provides a maximum power of 2.5 watts, and a 5-volt, 3-amp charger, which provides a maximum power of 15 watts.
The remote control allows you to turn the lamp on or off, as well as select three light colors using the center button and five brightness levels using the outer buttons.
The brightness is suitable for reading and office work. Here we see the difference between the lamp's illumination and that of a flexible arm with an 800-lumen LED bulb. Keep in mind that the flexible arm is closer to the book.
The longer model reaches a height of about 60 centimeters without the arms fully extended.
