Shagbark Hickory by Carol Ann Henderson
Greetings with Love from my wooded wonderland in the foothills of these Great Smoky Mountains.
Just outside my bedroom window stands a 150ft tall Shagbark Hickory tree, which mostly appears as a much lighter less reddish looking colored tree in person; but somehow in the rain in this video, it translates much differently. I'm littlerally living in a cloud, which is what creates the muted mysterious ambient quality to the hillside here.
The Shabark Hickory stands out in the mist.
This unusual stunning giant brings many riches to the world other than hosting squirrels and providing lush canopies of shade. Some of them are mentioned here.
Trees have soul. They have healing, medicinal, and metaphysical properties. They are beautiful to look at and grounding to hug. They are a food source for many insects and little critters, and I've even seen a turkey fly up and settle in to roost on this one. I stand in awe of all trees. Together, they stand and make a forest. Individually, each tree, just like each person, brings uniquely wonderful virtues to the table of life.
I hope you enjoy this video and the many wondrous qualities it has to offer. Knowing these things about the old Shagbark Hickory makes me love her even more!
