Dealing Poker Crash Course – Principle 2b (Expediting the Math)

In Principle 2b, I begin to dissect the idea of expediting the math, which if I could sum it up in text, it would be like this –– we're separating pieces of numbers, then adding up parts which we've already memorized, or can easily figure out. For example:
The number 11. We know that 11 x 3 = 33 because it's 3rd grade math. But for an easy example, we're essentially separating it into two numbers, 10 and 3, multiplying 10x3 then adding the produce of 1x3.. 10x3 = 30, PLUS 1x3 = 3 aka 30 + 3 = 33 aka 11x3.
Where this is going to come in use is multiplying larger, 3 or 4 digit numbers, and implementing what we've learned from Principle 2a (Memorizing the Math x3), to allow us to get to large numbers much, much faster. For example:
The number 565. 565 x 3. We're going to separate it into two pieces: 500x3 PLUS 65x3. If you followed the last video, you may have already memorized that 65x3 equals 195, simply knowing that end piece of information is what makes the magic happen with this math. We can easily determine that 500x3 = 1,500, then if we were to add our already memorized [195] 65x3, we get the final correct answer, of 1,695.
This works for 4 digit numbers and beyond. For example:
The number is 3,345 x 3. Because I know, from the last video, that 45 x 3 is 135, I simply have to add that onto whatever 3,300 x 3 is, which is easy to understand behind 9,900. 9,900 + 135 = 1,035. With both this technique, and a 'Round-Up' technique that I show, I'm confident you'll start being able to expedite this math and beginning to better understand how it's used with the formula for calculating the pot. Ultimately leading you to an audition for a hopeful job as a poker dealer, in a future portion of your life.
Learn the formula, and you'll be ahead of the curve, by a large margin.
The Formula is:
[The Previous Bet] x3
the drag (if there is any – sometimes, there's not)
what's in the middle [aka the pot]
If you can memorize increments of 5, numbers 5 through 95--multiplied by 3, then this will lead to understanding a huge shortcut to calculating larger numbers, in your head, quickly.
5x3 = 15
10x3 = 30
15x3 = 45
20x3 = 60
25x3 = 75
30x3 = 90
35x3 = 105
40x3 = 120
45x3 = 135
50x3 = 150
55x3 = 165
60x3 = 180
65x3 = 195
70x3 = 210
75x3 = 225
80x3 = 240
85x3 = 255
90x3 = 270
95x3 = 285
100x3 = 300
