LED step potential lights
Electricity at 240 Volts AC is used to visualize the electrical field in between two live electrodes.
A rotating circle of led's was attached a DC motor suspended above water.
Where the voltage gradient is high the led's illuminate. Where the voltage is almost zero the led's are off.
Tap water has a reasonable high resistance to limit the led current to about 5 mA.
