What Actually Happened to Marcus Mariota?
If you don’t remember, he had a record breaking career at Oregon and would win the Heisman Trophy in 2014. And after losing to Ohio State in the National Champioship he would declare to for the NFL Draft being selected second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015.
Mariota showed promise early in his NFL career and even led the Titans to a playoff victory in 2017. **So**, it seemed Mariota was going to be the Titans long-term franchise quarterback.
**But**, despite his early success, Mariota struggled with injuries and inconsistency. So by 2019, his performance declined to the point of getting benched in favor of Ryan Tannehill, who took over as the starting quarterback. Mariota's career in Tennessee ended, so he signed into a backup role with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, after that didn’t work out he signed with the falcons, and then with the Philadelphia Eagles, as a backup to Jalen Hurts.
