See the moves and counter moves in this brilliant and brutal chess match that is now known as The Immortal Game. Renowned German chess master Karl Ernst Adolf Anderssen took on Lionel Kieseritzky in London on June 21st, 1851, in a game that will never be forgotten.

Adolf Anderssen's tactics are what make the game so memorable, even now more than 150 years later. Almost suicidal in his sacrificing of his major pieces, he secured checkmate with the three minor pieces he had left, even though his defeated opponent had only lost three pawns.
