Sometimes with kids, we use visuals to communicate what they need before, during, and after a meltdown / dysregulation.

Especially for new kids, it can be helpful to use visuals to figure out what they need and how to help them. This can also be helpful for neurodivergent kids. Sometimes it's easier to point to something then to use words to communicate needs.

It's a small tool, but it can go a long way in figuring out how to help the child in your care through hard moments!
