Citrix Policies vs Group Policies: Sessions, Bandwidth and Security Management Explained
In this video, I explain what policies are in a Citrix environment and how they control sessions, bandwidth and security for different users, devices and connection types. You will see the difference between Citrix local policies (created in Citrix Studio and stored in the Site database) and Microsoft Group Policies (created with GPMC and stored in Active Directory or the local registry).
We also cover an important design rule: Citrix policies must be managed either in Active Directory or in Citrix Studio, but not in both at the same time. This will help you avoid duplicate settings, conflicts and troubleshooting headaches in your XenApp / Virtual Apps and XenDesktop / Virtual Desktops environments.
