A dog-friendly environment through the eyes of a dog
The so-called dog-friendly environment is rapidly developing. Dog owners are increasingly able to bring their pets to public places (cafes, restaurants, stores), and no one will look at them askance; instead, they'll smile and offer a bowl of water and a treat. But such social outings aren't always pleasant or enjoyable for the dog, so we asked Polina Yakovleva, a dog trainer at the Class & Fit club (https://classandfit.ru/), to help us understand this topic.
In this lecture, we'll cover:
• How to prepare a dog for social outings?
• Which dogs need special attention?
• How can you tell if everything is going well?
• How can you help your dog relax and unwind?
• What events should you definitely avoid bringing your dog to?
• What etiquette rules should we follow to ensure a dog-friendly environment thrives?
We encourage everyone to be attentive to their pets, realistically assess their capabilities and characteristics, recognize signs of stress, and remember proper etiquette when out and about with your dog in public places.
