Kid gets hit and sent spinning by car - runs it off !!
A repost of quite a spectacular vid of mine for those who never saw it first time around.
I saw the car in front clip the kid running across the road. Not much the Corsa driver could have done to avoid the contact IMHO. I have to say he wasn't too keen to stop but eventually did with me sounding my horn like a nutter behind him to get his attention. We got out and both of us were slightly baffled as we were expecting to see the dude nursing his injuries. There was no sign of him. For a few seconds I wondered if I had imagined the incident. Then out of the rain comes a young man, probably 18 yrs or so, running towards us. I ask him if he just got him by a car, to which he asks if I was the driver. Self-preservation mode kicks him and I point to the other dude just in case things get ugly.
The joggers then shakes the hand of the guy who clipped him and apologises, taking full responsibility and tells him there's no hard feelings. He then starts to make off. I stop him and ask him if he needs any medical assistance. He declines my offer and runs off into the night, leaving us both stood there in rain both with WTF expressions on our faces.
I advised the other driver to report the incident. I told him the cops would not be able to do anything as we never exchanged details with the young man. I explained to him it was an exercise to cover his own ar$e by explaining to him that if he drove off and some other witness reports the incident, he might have some explaining to do. I gave him my number and was prepared to speak to the cops if required. Nothing further came of it.
Looking back this young man had a very lucky escape. If he had caught the back of his neck or head on the kerb he might not have got up, even at this relative low speed.
