The new BMW R 1300 GS is the latest generation of BMW’s iconic big-bore adventure tourer. Compared to the previous R 1250 GS, the 1300 is lighter, faster, and features a lot of new tech.
But in an age where middleweight adventure bikes are ruling the roost, do big-bore machines like GS still matter?
We were handed the keys to the Trophy X variant of the 1300, which offers the most off-road capability in the range thanks in part to increased suspension travel and dirt-friendly tyres. So, has BMW got a winner on its hands?
