Therapeutic massage starts with a good anamnesis (Therapeutic Massage Manual live 04)
This series of reading commentary will be the first of many, God willing! My goal is to add my clinical experience to the author's vision; for me, the Therapeutic Massage Manual is a foundational book for massage therapy professionals. And as the author says, it's useful for those who are starting out, as well as for professionals who are already working.
This is the fourth live session, where we conclude the basic and fundamental topic of patient data collection. This is the moment when you need to have a clear understanding of the patient in front of you to provide excellent therapeutic massage treatment. Every massage therapist must know how to conduct a good anamnesis to be able to perform a good treatment. Before touching our patient's body, we need to touch their history; the anamnesis is the portal that unveils everything that has happened to the patient, giving us the possibility to understand the challenges, anxieties, and traumas that may have contributed to the current state of the person in front of us.
As Mário Paul Cassar says, a therapist who doesn't conduct an anamnesis is doing a disservice to their patients. I hope you enjoy what we're creating together. Come with me, let's move forward together, adding our own touch, to create a stronger and more respected massage therapy.
