The music of "Toad Town" made a great impression on me as a player when I reached the area. It starts out as a very simple call & response piece between the pizzicato strings and woodwinds, but as you enter certain buildings and wander the area, the rest of the channels fill out with new instruments and reharmonizations. Of course, it wasn't the only N64 game to do this type of gameplay-integrated sound, but I think it had a unique way of sounding like a busy small town.

For my version, I originally started the piece as a faithful orchestral rendition, but after finding out that the same composer, Tsujiyoko, created the recent Picross e and Picross S soundtracks, I had a flash of inspiration to bring a more whimsical and cartoony aspect to the piece. As a result, I think there might be some off putting sounds and strange adaptions, but I hope it conveys a unique "Paper Mario"-esque sound.
