In this video I compare the sound and tactility of orange alps, brown alps, and the ghetto brown alps modded switches.
For this mod I recommend using grey switch plates and not white because they are more consistent and tactile. You must cut off a piece of the top housing for the foe switch plate to fit and cut the pins off the foe switchplate aswell.
The leaf of brown alps and contact plates are very similar but still not exactly the same. So they do not feel exactly like actual brown alps and are certainly a bit less refined feeling. However, personally I prefer typing on the modded alps over other alps such as cream, orange, and black alps. They feel significantly more rounded and the tactile leaf has no rattle just like really brown alps because it is mounted on a plastic plate unlike normal tactile alps which have essentially free floating tactile leafs.
I also recommend using kaihl box springs in these as they will add to the tactility and make the switches feel much snappier.
