America Creates Time Zone For Moon
The US will create a time zone for the moon. If we’re going to be there for a while, we’ll need to address the time issue. Time moves faster on the moon because gravity is weaker and so after a full year - Moon time would be 21 milliseconds ahead of earth time which is whatever, but 50 years from now - the Moon would be a full second ahead of Earth. And will only continue to drift away. So they’ll have until the end of 2026 to set up “Coordinated Lunar Time”. It’s unknown if Moon time will be coordinated with our time or if it’ll be a whole new system.
