Russia Can’t Stop Ukraine’s Invasion
Ukraine’s invasion of Russia is much larger than anyone even knew. They have invaded Belgorod Oblast too. Russia has now diverted several thousand troops from the front lines in an effort to stop the invasion. This comes as Ukraine is now 22 miles deep into Russia and has captured 82 settlements and over 1,150 square kilometers. They’ve taken hundreds of Russian POWs so far. There are reports that Russian soldiers are beheading Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk. If true, there likely won’t be very many Russians POWs going forward in this offensive. The US is working towards sending Ukraine long range cruise missiles to fire from their F-16s. Being able to launch a cruise missile over 200 miles from a fighter jet is a capability that only a handful nations have. These cruise missiles have rarely been used by the US. The US bought over 4,000 of them in 2003 and has only used them twice. They’re still building up the stockpile though with 45 missiles being made a month. But they’re currently developing a new one too, so it seems like a win for all parties. The missiles have only been shared with Australia, Finland, and Poland.
