So what do we mean when we say oily skin?
If you consistently have a shiny, greasy sheen to your skin, or you’re acne-prone and you deal with a lot of breakouts, even as an adult - you have oily skin. So what can you do about?
Start everyday with a simple skincare routine - wash, tone, and hydrate.
Step 1 - Wash
Wash your face with a gentle formula that cuts down on oil without eliminating it completely. Your skin still needs its natural oil to stay moisturized and smooth.
Rinse your face with warm water - using hot water can wash away too many oils and your skin will respond by producing more. Use just a nickel size amount of face wash, lather, rinse, and gently towel dry.
Two or three times a week - it’s good to gently exfoliate. Use our a Face Scrub to remove dead skin cells that could be clogging pores. A word of warning - you don’t need to aggressively scrub. Just let the exfoliating ingredients do their work.
Step 2 - Toner
Use a face toner to control oil. This is gonna refresh your skin and turn down the shiny complexion that guys with oily skin usually have. You want a toner that is made with natural and organic ingredients like Cucumber, White Willow Bark and Witch Hazel that have both anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Give it a shake and spray directly onto your face or use a cotton ball to accurately apply to specific problem areas.
Step 3 - Moisturize
Follow up with a moisturizer. Always. Yes, even if you have oily skin. But make sure you’re using a fast-absorbing moisturizer that hydrates with Aloe rather than Oils. You want it to seal in moisture and help balance your skin’s oils.
