The premise is that the basic "Hello, World!" program is insufficient to get a feel for a programming language, so they specify some interactivity to further demonstrate looping, conditions, I/O, and more. They show an implementation in GNU APL, but without fully explaining it. Besides, GNU APL is missing some features that can be used to make the code neater. Here are therefore four fully explained alternatives written in Dyalog APL.
