This is one of the colour palettes I've created this year to inspire exploration before settling on creating a painting or a series that will all sit alongside each other harmoniously. If you start collecting photos of scenes you notice, tear out pages of fashion or interior magazines or actively go out to seek and make colour notes in any environment you can build up a bank of interesting material to create colour palettes from. Mixing good amounts of four to five core colours that can then be intermixed is a great way to paint boldly knowing that each colour is going to work with another and new combinations will result as you work your mixes on your palette. It's a good idea to mix at least one very dark colour, some mid tones, and include white as an extra colour to mix into all the colours you make as you go along.
