DCS 2.5.5: Increased Draw Distances , Hornet AGM-84D Harpoon, HQ-7 SAM
DCS Open Beta was updated to 2.5.5.34644 on 14 August 2019.
Some items I really enjoyed in this patch:
Increased Draw Distances! I'm not sure how far out things used to render but in some test missions I was seeing map buildings, static objects, and AI objects out past 30-35 nautical miles. I haven't really tried to find the furthest range to pick up something on the TGP for the Hornet but if you have a better idea please leave a comment and share your numbers.
The Harpoon has been initially implemented with Bearing Only Launch. You're able to fire down a bearing or select a waypoint and shoot a bearing off that waypoint to head towards a target. You can also tell the Harpoon what altitude you want it to fly at, if you want it to skim or pop up in the terminal phase of flight, and the ranges you would like it to search and self destruct. I'm looking forward to having the air to ground radar on the Hornet to help us sniff out vessels at great distances.
The Chinese HQ-7 SAM system was added by Deka Ironwork Simulation. The HQ-7 has a beautiful model and the missile from what I've seen playing around in scenarios is very deadly. Another thing I'm looking forward to from Deka as many of you are is the JF-17 multi-role fighter jet.
The Tomcat has some of its afterburner visuals back but the fix sounds like it is temporary and the artwork will be improved on in the future.
The Tomcat now suffers from a bug that makes the wings black in color. More information on it and a fix can be found at this link:

The FW-190D-9 turn indicator working again.
The C-101 by AvioDev has more work done on multiplayer canopy sync issues and a map box cover fix.
ED's NS430 has improved shadow work.
