Guide to camping at the Xajha Caves
Welcome to my incredible adventure in the Xajha Caves of Zimapán, Hidalgo! From Mexico City, we began our journey by bus to Botiñha, where we changed vehicles and started our descent to the river with its hot springs. After a long day, we arrived at the Xajha base camp, known as Las Palapas, where we began our ecotourism trail through the wilderness. We walked along a rocky path with little shade, but every minute was worth it.
Finally, we arrived at the natural paradise of the Xajha Caves. Here, we had the opportunity to swim in the hot springs and camp by the river. We crossed impressive caves to reach the source of the thermal water, where we swam in waters that exceeded 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
