Dr. Limusishiden is from rural Tughuan Mongghul
Village, Huzhu Mongghul (Tu) Autonomous County. After graduating from Qinghai Medical Collage in 1993, he has worked at Qinghai Medical College Attached Hospital. Dr. Limusishiden's 'intimate awareness of health issues in rural Mongghul areas led him to realize that teaching basic medical knowledge to Mongghul is urgent. The Canada Fund's generous support has made this video and the accompanying book possible. The book includes the Mongghul traditional view of medicine, what a disease is, how people become ill, how to treat illness, the sterilization of needles and the skin prior to injections, testing for allergies to medicines, cysticercosis, hepatitis, roundworm disease, tuberculosis, apoplexy, tympanitis, causes of deafness, vaccinations, infant diarrhea and pneumonia, basic knowledge for women giving birth, common gynopathy, sexually transmitted diseases, menopause, infertility, tracheitis, gastroenteritis, gastric ul cers and stomach cancer , hepatoclrrhosis, arthritis, insecticide poisoning, sars , birdfl u aids and carbon monoxide poisoning. Causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention are presented for each illness.
