Wind Turbines
Wind turbines are the key components of wind power systems. They consist of tall towers with large blades attached to a rotor.
Wind Flow
Basically, the rotor converts the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical energy. A gearbox transforms the blades' slow rotations (between 18 and 25 per minute) into faster rotations (up to 1,800 per minute) that can power the electric generator.
