Occupant Toxicity Threat from Rain Screen Cladding Systems 15 08 19
Dr James Glockling, Technical Director of the Fire Protection Association, will be reporting the results of the post-Grenfell RISCAuthority project looking at the potential for occupant exposure to toxic emissions sourced from building fabric materials. This work, conducted in association with UCLAN, suggests that in combination, the lack of protection afforded to occupants from fire ingress by building regulations, and toxicity playing no role in material suitability assessment, occupants may be inadequately protected from harm.

Presenter Bio:
Dr James Glockling is the Technical Director of the Fire Protection Association and RISCAuthority. The measurement of toxicity from fire, involved materials, and even firefighting agents is a core discipline to many projects conducted during his time running laboratories for the Loss Prevention Council, Building Research Establishment, and the Fire Protection Association for work funded by government, military and UK insurers.
