I never have to buy plants again!
In this video, I expand my aquatic plant form. The ultimate goal of which is to have a fully self-sufficient way for me to get enough plants for my tanks. I have found success with this method in the past and I encourage you to try it yourself as it will save you a lot of money when it comes to plants. It’s very simple. All you need is a clear container preferably plastic, some soil, water, and a starter plant. It’s that easy.
In this video, I started off the first layer with a sand layer for drainage purposes. I added charcoal as it is a good filter and helps keep everything clean. Then I added some sphagnum moss as they are great with absorbing water and help keep a rich layer under the soil.  Then I added some organic potting soil and a layer of orchid bark on top of that for additional organic material. It was important to ensure that the system was well hydrated as the plants I was using were aquatic plants so they are very water loving. It’s important to make sure you have a strong source of light. In this case I used an LED grow light. 
You may have noticed some of the plants that I have used in this video are tissue culture. I find that these are the best return on investment in terms of money spent because the culture provide a lot of individual plants, although they can be a bit expensive to start with.
