For Home Again, the third and final single of my forthcoming album Soft Focus, I combined a driving hiphop beat with soul-stuttering samples, elements of old school funk and buzzing synthesizers to deliver a sonic journey through space and time. Long time collaborator and friend, Oakland-based trumpet player and producer Will Magid aka Balkan Bump, who has worked with the likes of Erykah Badu, Solomon Burke, Bonobo and Kenny Burell, delivers a memorable climax with a crunchy horn harmony that will take you back to the Motown era and will surely get your head nodding.
