The Mi-35 modernization program brought a number of major upgrades to the classic Crocodile:
🛠️ More powerful engines
⚙️ Composite main rotor replacing the old metal one
🌀 X-shaped composite tail rotor instead of the original 3-blade design
🚁 Fixed landing gear (unlike the retractable gear on Mi-24)
💥 Shorter wings with four hardpoints instead of six
🎯 Improved targeting and sighting systems, better communication antennas, and radar warning sensors
🔫 New armament – the old four-barrel machine gun was replaced with a twin 23mm GSh-23L cannon in a nose-mounted turret
Currently, the Russian Army operates over 60 Mi-35Ms, and the helicopter is also widely exported.
