In this short math video we will answer a standardized math test question where we demonstrate how to write a number using decimal expansion. We will first understand that the question is a multiple select problem and that we need to identify two equivalent expressions. We will review place value of a decimal using ones, tenths, hundredths and thousandths. We will review how to read a decimal using words. We will rewrite using decimal expansion. We will use the ones digit value times 1, the hundredths digit times 1/100, and the thousandths digit times 1/1000. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
