3 Steps to Get Unstuck from Learning Thai | Pocket Thai
💬 Do you also feel stuck in your Thai learning?
After several years of teaching Thai and helping foreigners to work on the language, I realized that basic Thai is not as challenging as the intermediate phase (If we don't count the pronunciation and reading).
Many BananaThai students have mastered the foundation of Thai and can converse effectively in their daily lives, however, something is missing beyond the grammar and syntax skills, which is comprehension skills.
To enhance comprehension, one needs to get enough exposure to the language at the right level - not too hard or too easy. This way, one can train his/her brain to connect the dots and learn the language from the context.
Besides, natural comprehensive input is not enough. There should be an explanation to reinforce the comprehension with syntax, usage, colloquial terms, etc.
Lastly, if there is input, there should also be output practice. One needs to be able to practice expressing his/her own ideas, opinions, and feelings as well as exchanging constructive feedback to boost confidence.
