This video was taken from a presentation on Bill Gray, who was instrumental in the beginnings of the mountaineering trails in BC. This segment is about Dr. Charles Wales Drysdale and Billy Gray and their tragic end in the Kootenay River. Charles Wales Drysdale was the BC Geologist for the Geological Surveys of Canada at this time, and Bill Gray was assisting him in the mounting of his expeditions. This is the story of what happened to both these men while crossing the Kootenay River after passing through a pass that takes you from Canmore through the Spray Lakes and out into an area just below the current park boundaries of Kootenay National Park. In honour of their extensive contribution to the country two mountains in Kootenay National Park have been named after them Mt Drysdale and Mount Gray. These two peaks can be found on what is commonly referred to a Rock Wall just after the Wolverine Pass in Kootenay National Park. With apologies for the poor quality video
