Pretty Ugly: Art Beyond Beauty - Gala Opening
This juried show challenged conventional notions of beauty and aesthetics. The dark side of beauty? There was artwork in many mediums and any genres abstract, figurative, conceptual and realistic disrupting and pushing boundaries, inspiring or engaging viewers beyond what is considered simply pleasing to the eye. The juror for this show was Caroline James, an artist and teacher who lives on Gabriola Island.
