00:07 Welcome back to powertips three six five with me Shelley Fishel . Today I'm going to show you how to insert video from Youtube into your powerpoint and I'll be using PowerPoint
00:17 2016 the latest version. They've improved this immensely in this version and it's now really simple to pull in a video that exists in youtube and pop it into your presentation. Of course, you will need to make sure when you show the presentation that you do have an internet connection in order for it to work as the video itself is hosted on Youtube. Here I am on my slide ready to insert my video. I've titled The slide and I'm ready to go. I have the six icons here which allow me to add things to my slides and this bottom right is insert video. I can also go to the insert ribbon and choose video and I can choose here online video or video on my pc. If I click the icon here, it brings up this dialogue which allows me to pick a file from my computer, a file stored on sharepoint.
01:15 I might even have something on facebook or in my personal one drive. And in my case here, my youtube. So I'm going to go into youtube here and I'm going to look for one of my favorite, um, youtube videos, the power of words. And there it is. That's the one I want. I'm going to pop it in there. So I'll select it and our click insert and PowerPoint just pops the video that into the place holder. Now you can't see any controls, you can't play it at the moment. At the top we have video tools, we can do some formatting. So we could give it a nice border. We could, um, give it an orange border and we could make some shadow effects or we could change the border. Let's make it like this a bit bigger. And if I click again on the video, I've got some playback tools where I can play it to see, and I can set some different options.
02:10 But we're not going to go into detail today. I'm just going to show you what this looks like to play it. So I'll go to slideshow and I'll go to from current slide and the video will start to play and I just want to tell you, I'm not going to play the whole video because it will take too long, but I would recommend that you go off and watch that video anyway cause it's got a really great message. So I'm going to click from current slide and now there's my video ready to play. I'll click play
02:45 and I'm going to click stops so that you can see that and I'll come back and escape out of there and escape out of slideshow mode. So as you can tell, it's very simple to import a video from Youtube and get it to play.
