Network window to set up or modify network settings can be accessed from multiple locations:

1) Applications - System Tools - Settings - Network

2) Ethernet Port icon in gnome-panel - Wired - Wired Settings

3) Ethernet Port icon in gnome-panel - All Settings icon - Network

4) Press Super key (Windows key/Command key) to go to Activities overview - type network into search field

You can set up or modify network configuration in Network window. Work in Network window is very intuitive.
You can set up more NetworkManager connection profiles per one network interface and you can quickly swap between various connection profiles (activate/deactivate NetworkManager connection) in Network window.

In Network window you can set up Automatic (DHCP) or Manual (Static) network configuration - IP address, netmask, default gateway, set up primary DNS server and secondary DNS server. You can also set appropriate name to every NetworkManager connection profile, configure NetworkManager connection profile to activate automatically (after reboot or if another connection profile was deactivated) and many other settings.
