Red Dead 2 | Vibes Only
No Spoilers for a 10 year old game.
I found that once the game has been completed and have been given time to digest it, coming back to narratives with as weighty an impact as Arthur's life in Red Dead Redemption 2 becomes an emotional burden. I call it the Cadbury Egg Effect: once you've had a dessert this rich, you aren't sure you'll be able to ever eat it again. I found that if you never work for Leopold Strauss, and you never save Michael Bell from jail, you halt the narrative progression, while also leaving a nearly fully unlocked world to ride around in. Sure, you will be missing quite a bit of story and a few weapons, but it frees you to play in the world indefinitely at the peak of the emotional tipping point.
This point in time resonates with me. These are my vibes.
