Montessori movable alphabet story writing and spacing
Children want to tell stories, so why not express their stories by writing them down?
After practicing writing with the movable alphabet and creating lists, they are ready to write down a longer story that they want to tell. Ask them questions if needed to help them discover that their voice matters, they have something worth saying!
Remember that writing begins with phonetic spellings. This is not something we need to correct! The key here is to build their confidence and get their thoughts out of their head and onto the rug.
