PNB Savings accounts in PNB can be opened online or offline. To open PNB offline, you have to visit the branch, fill the application form and submit documents.
To be eligible to open a savings account in Punjab National Bank, customers need to meet certain criteria.
Should be a citizen of India.
The applicant should be 18 years and above to be eligible. In the case of minors, the parents or legal guardian of the minor can open the account on their behalf.
The applicant is required to have valid identity and address proof that is Government approved.
Once the application is verified by the bank, the applicant will have to make an initial deposit - depending on the minimum balance requirement of that particular savings account he/she has chosen.
The Punjab National Bank (PNB) Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) is a simple savings bank account that does not require any initial deposit or minimum balance. No charges are levied on the ATM-cum-Debit card. No charges are applicable for re-activation of the account. However, annual maintenances charges will be levied.
