Particle Systems in Unity for Augmented Reality Apps
This is it!! We’ve made it! This is the final video in this series on how to make an augmented reality app in 2022 from scratch! We have gone through digestible, easy step-by-step video Unity and Blender tutorials that have gone through how to ensure we have the correct versions of Unity, Blender, Visual Studio, iOS, and MacOs, how to come up with ideas and how to design an XR app, how to make a working prototype from simple 3d objects, and then how to turn those simple 3d objects into your own 3D characters! TODAY, we will polish up our prototype by replacing the placeholder objects with our own 3D models, adding particle effects to our characters so that we can see their trails in real-space, adding fog particle effects and real-world reflections to spice up the final build and make it more immersive. We will end with deploying to the phone one last time to see if our final product works (spoiler alert: it does!!).
Now, I’ve been making these tutorials lengthy with few edits and cuts so that you can follow along with me in real-time. However, if the pace is too slow, I’d be down to make tutorials that summarize key moments so that you can get all the info you need much faster. You can always double the speed of these tutorials to cut them in half (and I speak slowly enough so that it’s still understandable). Anyways, if you think I should explore other tutorial styles, let me know and I’ll give them a shot!
