Voices from the Amazon
In the video that inaugurates the Vozes Amazônicas series, the Amazon Basin Project-Implementation of PAE (OTCA/PNUMA/GEF) weaves a bricolage of testimonies from men and women from the Brazilian Amazon about the value of rivers and all bodies of water for the sustainability of the forest, the life and culture of indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the region. In unison and in tune with the demands of the planetary environmental crisis, the voices also echo the impacts of climate change on forests, water, and Amazonian populations, highlighting the relevance of cooperation between the eight countries in the region, promoted and strengthened by ACTO, to mitigate the effects of droughts and floods and for the sustainable development of the region.
