Thanks to my flying buddy, Bill, a competition Pattern Aerobatics pilot who helped with this review. And thanks to Banggood for providing the airplane for review.

This review is in three parts:
Part 1: Unboxing and Indoor Maiden (    • HK A-430 Review - Part 1: Unboxing and Ind...   )
Part 2: Modes and Transmitter Instructions (this video)
Part 3: Outdoor Flight (    • HK A-430 Review - Part 3: Outdoor Flight   )

The HK A-430 can be flown in one of two stabilized modes: 6G - full stabilization that allows no acrobatics, and 3D - partial stabilization that allows acrobatics (including rolls, loops, and inverted flight).

Bottom Line: The HK A-430 is a capable little plane that is very suitable for beginners flying outdoors in 6G mode. In the hands of a capable pilot flying in 3D mode, it is a speedy little airplane that can do most of the maneuvers that bigger airplanes can do.

Pros:
Handles wind extremely well in 6G mode
Flight time in excess of 10 minutes with 300mah 2s lipo
Light flying weight of 83 grams
Transmitter has surprising number of features for a RTF kit
Very Sturdy in most crashes
Take-off/Landing gear works well on rough surfaces

Cons:
Mistakes/omissions in "Quick Start" user manual
Not suitable for indoor flight despite light weight, especially for beginners
Nose susceptible to breaking in direct, nose-first crashes
Odd elevator behavior in 6G mode
European-only charger adapter
